I work at a publishing house by day and make zines by night. As a child, I drew foods from novels that I had never tasted and objects from TV dramas, then folded the paper into little books. Finding a book about zines brought me back to that kind of play. I turn experiences that stay with me into drawings and books: food I keep wanting to eat, a trip that goes wrong, or the ridiculous person I become when I have a crush. Sometimes I linger far too long over something I love; sometimes I turn the ugly thoughts I’m embarrassed to admit into something we can laugh at. I hope readers see a little of themselves in these books.
